Process of Selection: The selection procedure will be divided into two stages, the first of which is the Preliminary Examination and the second of which is the IBPS Main Examination.

1. Common Written Examination: For Clerical Cadre positions, the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts an online examination. The exam will be two-tiered, with the preliminary and main phases taking place online. Preliminary exam total marks. The total marks for the Preliminary exam are 100 in 1 hour for objective type questions, and the total marks for the Main exam are 200 in 2 hours for objective type questions. A candidate must pass both the preliminary and main examinations and have a high enough merit score to be shortlisted for the provisional allotment process, which will be announced later on the IBPS website.

IBPS Clerks Selection Procedure ; Eligibility Criteria:

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) holds a Common Written Examination (CWE) for the recruitment of Clerical Cadre posts in public sector banks. Candidates taking the common written exam must be at least 18 years old and have the required educational qualifications. The following are the requirements for participation.

I. Nationality/ Citizenship:
A candidate must be either –
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

II. Age limit: The minimum age limit is 20 years and maximum 28 years.

III. Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Indian government, or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central government. On the day of registration, the candidate must have a valid mark sheet/degree certificate indicating that he or she is a graduate and mention the percentage of marks earned in graduation while registering online. Computer Literacy: Candidates must have operating and working knowledge of computer systems, which means they must have a certificate, diploma, or degree in computer operations/language/ have studied Computer/ Information Technology as one of their courses in high school, college, or institute.

It is desirable if a candidate is fluent in the official language of the state/UT for whose openings they desire to apply (candidates should be able to read, write, and speak the official language of the state/UT). (Some questions may be asked during the interview to determine the candidate’s familiarity with the state’s/official UT’s language.)
