On his route to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted gifts(scarf & pagdi) from a man on the streets of Varanasi on Monday, asking his security officials to let him near his car.
The Prime Minister’s automobile is shown driving down a short road packed with residents and businesses screaming slogans and greeting him with flowers in a video.PM Modi halted his car and asked his security people to step aside as citizens of his Lok Sabha constituency showered flower petals and screamed slogans of ‘Modi, Modi’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev.’ He then opened his car door and accepted the man’s hat and scarf.
The man was observed putting on the Prime Minister’s hat and scarf while keeping his hands folded.
The Prime Minister bathed in the holy Ganga and offered prayers at the Kaal Bhairav Temple and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple after arriving at the holy city. Later that evening, he would see the Ganga Aarti.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, was accompanied by BJP President J P Nadda and other officials. The Prime Minister is in town on a two-day visit.
The Prime Minister will meet the chief ministers of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand during his two-day tour. Bihar and Nagaland’s deputy chief ministers will also be in attendance.
The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor is a five-lakh-square-foot corridor that connects the temple grounds to the Ganga and offers a variety of amenities to worshipers.
The state-of-the-art Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, which was built at a cost of 339 crore and surrounds the historic Kashi Vishwanath Temple near Varanasi’s famed Dashashwamedh Ghat, was inaugurated ahead of Uttar Pradesh’s assembly elections early next year.
