Delhi government cuts VAT to 19.40%, fuel is cheaper by ₹8 per liter

The Centre lowered excise duty on fuel by 5 per litre and diesel by 10 per litre on the eve of Diwali this  year to drive down retail prices across the country. The Delhi government lowered the value added tax  (VAT) on fuel prices from 30% to 19.40% on  Wednesday, bringing petrol prices in the national  capital down by $8 per litre. The decision was made earlier in the day during a Cabinet meeting hosted by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
