NEET-PG consultation starts on January 12: Mansukh Mandaviya

The Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, announced on Sunday that NEET-PG counselling for 2021-2022 will begin on January 12.

The minister’s remarks came two days after the Supreme Court cleared the door for the restart of the stalled counselling procedure, which it stated should proceed based on the existing 27% OBC (Other Backward Class) and 10% EWS (Economically Weaker Section) quota in the All India Quota seats.

The health minister stated in a Facebook statement that the measure will offer the country more strength in its fight against the coronavirus sickness. “I extend my best wishes to all of the contestants.”

The Supreme Court stated on Friday that there is a “urgent necessity” to commence the admissions process.

The order was welcomed by the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA), which had previously led a weeks-long protest against the delay in initiating NEET-PG counselling, which had severely impacted healthcare services in government hospitals across the country, particularly in Delhi.
