The Indian Institute of Science is a public, recognised research university dedicated to science, engineering, design, and management instruction and research. Bangalore is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. General and Applied Chemistry, as well as Electro-Technology, were the Institute’s first two departments. Morris W Travers, the Institute’s first Director, began organising the Institute shortly after his arrival in India at the end of 1906. Travers began construction on the main building, which is now a landmark in Bangalore.

Selection Process for IISc Recruitment 2021:
- Selection – Based solely on the job-oriented aptitude test (100% weight age). The Written Aptitude Test will be a computer based MCQ test. The scheme of examination and syllabus is at Annexure I. The candidates are required to update two choices under paper B in the online application. Once selected, the choices can’t be changed under any circumstances.

- Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, Transgender and Ex-servicemen – Nil
