Amazon Prime Video has announced a sequel to Chhorii, directed by Vishal Furia. Nushrratt Bharuccha will reprise his role as the protagonist.
A sequel to the horror film Chhorri is in the works, with star actor Nushrratt Bharuccha and director Vishal Furia returning. Following the success of the Hindi film, which was launched on Amazon Prime Video on November 26th, producers T-Series, Crypt TV, and Abundantia Entertainment are looking forward to expanding the series.
Chhorii is a remake of Furia’s 2017 Marathi film Lapachhapi, which is about a pregnant mother whose unborn child is being pursued by demonic spirits. The sequel, currently dubbed Chhorii 2, will carry up Sakshi’s (Nushrratt) tale where it left off in the first film, bringing back some major characters and introducing new scares.
Vishal stated that he is “thrilled” to continue the plot of the film with Part Two. “I’ve always imagined Chhorii as a multi-film series, and I began plotting the sequel while we were filming the first instalment. The affection for Chhorrii has been incredible, and I am excited to go on another adventure with the incredibly brilliant Nushrratt and my producers, who have always stood with me and supported my vision “In a statement, the filmmaker stated.
Nushrratt stated that she is “overjoyed” with the response to Chhorii and is looking forward to reuniting with Vishal and the crew. “Chhorii was a huge departure from the work I had previously done, and seeing the risk repaid is a wonderful sensation. Chhorii is a passion project for all of us, and I am excited to work with Vishal and the crew as we continue the storey with Chhorii 2 “She continued.
Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis, and Shikhaa Sharma, who will continue to produce Chhorii, made a joint statement on the sequel.”
